The path to becoming an RM starts on the very first day in the mission. But it becomes a reality on those last two days before the plane ride home. Tuesday morning, about 8 AM, the first of our missionaries that have completed their time of service begin arriving at the mission office. They have a wonderful personal interview with President Rahlf, and then several practical ones with Elder and Sister Honeycutt, and Sister Rahlf. After lunch, we hold our "To Be Continued" meeting where we talk and counsel about the transition from full-time missionary to returned missionary. Our Departure Fireside is held in the Cauayan Chapel at 4 PM and each missionary has the opportunity to bear their testimony one last time while in the mission. Dinner and our traditional activities follow. The next morning is breakfast together and then the drive to the airport and say our last goodbyes…or I should say, our "til we meet agains." I like that much better. It's so hard to see them go, but we are forever grateful for their service and the deep footprints they've left on so many hearts and places. Well done, thou good and faithful servants.
