Elders Specialized Training July 21, 2015 "Rise Up, O Men of God"

On July 21 and 23, we held Specialized Training with all of the Elders in the mission.  Our theme was Rise Up, O Men of God.  We began the day with a morning session together in the chapel.  President Rahlf introduced the theme and Sister Rahlf spoke on how true manhood honors womanhood.  After the morning session, the Elders broke into smaller groups of 3-4 and had two great activities about planning.  Lunch and workshops followed. The workshops were taught by our Senior couple Elders--Elder Honeycutt, Elder Leslie and Elder Shorter.  After the workshops we met for the closing session during which President Rahlf taught about the qualities and character of Ammon.  It was a powerful two days.  We are thankful for our missionaries and their willingness to be Men of God.

Zone Conferences February 10th and 12th: Eternal Progression and the Light of Christ

We began this quarter's Zone Conferences the second week of February with a theme of Eternal Progression and the Light of Christ.  With a new year just beginning, it was time to set new goals, both individually and as a mission.  We shared how it is in our very natures as sons and daughters of God to desire progression and improvement and to reach and stretch.  The Mission Leadership Council met a week earlier and worked together to determine new Standards of Excellence for our mission.  Those goals were presented during the morning session.  We also had a wonderful presentation from Elder and Sister Morgan, our Senior Couple over the Address Unknown program, with ideas and success stories of reaching those members who have been lost on the records.  President Rahlf concluded the morning teaching about how we can be missionaries with power as we reach beyond what we think we can do.  Of course, delicious lunch was then enjoyed and a great "contacting" activity.  The afternoon session was all about the light of Christ and we ended the day with testimonies from our missionaries.  We all left edified and uplifted and grateful to be serving the Lord in the wonderful Philippines Cauayan Mission.
