The Mission in Motion: Departures, Arrivals and Transfers February 9-10, 2015

In our mission, Departures, Arrivals and Transfers all happen on the same day.  This is because there are only four flights each week into Cauayan, so we take advantage of the planes.

We begin Departures on the day before, when our missionaries that have completed their missions come in to the mission home and office for their last interview with President Rahlf.  They also close our their finances with Elder Armstrong, and receive travel itinerary and informations from Sister Armstrong.  I get to give them the standard worm/amoeba protocol pills for exit missionaries.  How fun is that?

We have three Elders completing their missions.
Elder Gumayao, Elder Baquiran, and Elder Lee.

And final farewells...

Families here we come!
Many of our Philippine missionaries are greeted by their families at the Temple.
What a wonderful and special tradition.

After we check in our departing missionaries, we travel back to Cauayan to say hello to
missionaries that are being transferred.
We have three Transfer sites: Tuguegarao in the north, Solano in the south,
and Cauayan in the center.
It's an efficient system and our missionaries are quickly on their way to their new areas.

These pictures are from the Cauayan Transfer Point.

And then it's back to the airport to greet our arriving missionaries!

Welcome to the Philippines Cauayan Mission
Elder Lagrimas and Sister Tupouniua!

Elder Bice will be training Elder Lagrimas

Sister Labis will be training Sister Tupouniua

We have a delicious lunch, then interviews and orientation.  After that is complete,  the luggage is either loaded into a car, or toted to the nearest jeepney point and our newest
missionaries are on their way to their first area.  We are so glad to have them finally here!

Another great day to be a missionary!

"…if you desire, you shall be the means of doing much good in this generation.
I say unto thee, put your trust in that Spirit which leadeth to do good--
yea, to do justly, to walk humbly, to judge righteously;
and this is my Spirit."
