April 8 10:00 AM
It's Reunion time for March 11 missionaries and their trainers. They've been four weeks in the field, assigned all over the mission, and are back in to Cauayan for additional training and counsel. After a month of real missionary work, they are coming to understand the effort and love it takes to be the Lord's missionaries…and that it is worth it! President Rahlf shares this C.S. Lewis quote with them:
"Imagine yourself as a living house. God comes in to rebuild that house. At first, perhaps, you can understand what He is doing. He is getting the drains right and stopping the leaks in the roof and so on; you knew that those jobs needed doing and so you are not surprised. But presently He starts knocking the house about in a way that hurts abominable and does not seem to make any sense. What on earth is He up to? The explanation is that he is building quite a different house from the one you thought of--throwing out a new wing here, putting on an extra floor there, running up towers, making courtyards. You thought you were being made into a decent little cottage: but He is building a palace."
As missionaries, we learn how to lose ourselves in the Lord's work--to truly become instruments in His hands. It's a learning process, but there is real joy as we learn to
let go… and let God. For "when we turn our lives over to the Lord, the power behind us is always greater than the obstacles before us."

Snapshots from the day
We are so grateful for these most recent missionaries and their willingness to serve. There is a great journey ahead, and we are thankful to be walking it together.
"And verily I say unto thee that thou shalt lay aside the things of this world,
and seek for the things of a better."
