Our theme for this quarter's zone conferences was The Harvest and Our Purpose. We began the day by gathering for the opening session with welcome remarks from President Rahlf. He shared good news about the continuing progress and harvest in the Philippines Cauayan Mission. We are "growing the Church," as Elder Bowen counseled us last year, and it shows in the dedication of our missionaries. Many are reaching and exceeding our mission goals and we are grateful for such focus and diligence for the Lord's work.
Sister Rahlf spoke on Understanding Our Purpose and shared insights from Elder D. Todd Christofferson about the difference between a Purpose Driven Missionary and an
Activity Driven Missionary. President Rahlf then conducted a discussion on 2 Nephi 28, exposing the philosophies of men and answering with the doctrine of Christ.
Workshops followed: Divine Companionship taught by the Assistants; Working with Members taught by Zone Leaders; and The Teaching Pool taught by Sister Training Leaders.
Lunch, Birthday Recognitions, Heads-Up Activity and Zone Pictures were next and then our closing session where President and Sister Rahlf taught about Keeping the Sabbath Day Holy. The afternoon ended with testimonies by our missionaries.
It takes four sessions to hold Zone Conferences across the mission, and a lot of logistics and preparations by missionaries, the Senior Couples, those who prepare our food…
we express our gratitude to all. It's worth every moment! We grow closer to each other, our mission, and especially, our Savior and His work of salvation.
