Sisters Conference "Unstoppable Women of God" Part I

Our theme for this year's Sisters Conference was "Unstoppable Women of God."  It came from the quote "She is unstoppable, not because she does not have failures or doubts, but because she continues on despite them." (Beau Taplin) 

We added "She is unstoppable because she realizes that God's plan for her is bigger than the human mind can comprehend." (Sister Shorter)

Our morning session included an introduction of the theme by Sister Rahlf and then workshops taught by Sister Honeycutt, Sister Leslie, Sister Shorter, and Sister Rahlf.

Lunch, activities and the afternoon session with President Rahlf completed our conference.

We spent a wonderful, spiritual, encouraging, enlightening, enjoyable day together as we learned about the strength and influence for good that come from righteousness daughters of God.  The Cauayan Mission is blessed by these treasured, unstoppable missionaries!

Typhoon Update

The storm has passed and all are well.  The storm intensity increased to a Category 5, but stayed off our coast and the eye remained over the ocean.  We experienced heavy rain and some wind, but all is quiet now.  Thank you for your prayers!  Happy Mother's Day!

Typhoon Naoul

Typhoon Noul is heading toward the Philippines, expected to make landfall in Northern Luzon.  It is expected to turn away from our mission boundaries and should pose no real threat.  We do expect rain and there may be flooding, as well as power outages.  Our missionaries have been alerted and asked to be prepared.

We also realize that with the possibility of some power outages on Mother's Day, some planned phone calls may not occur as scheduled.  Please be assured that every effort will be made to make sure the Mother's Day call will happen as soon as possible.

First Philippines Cauayan Mission Reunion

President Rahlf and I attended a mission presidents seminar in Manila and had the opportunity to gather together a number of our returned missionaries for our first reunion.  Sister Solis arranged for all of us to meet in her ward building and we had a wonderful  evening together.  It was filled with sweet and tender moments--like when they all stood and sang the mission song--as well as a lot of laughter and just joy in being together again.  We are so grateful for the privilege of knowing and serving with these amazing young men and women.  They have blessed our lives forever.
