July Zone Conferences… The Restoration Part One: Tuguegarao North & South, Ilagan, Burgos, Cauayan and Roxas Zones

Our July Zone Conferences were based on gaining a deeper knowledge and understanding of the Restoration.  The morning session began with President Rahlf teaching what truths had been lost or distorted during the apostasy, and then what was returned and gained during the Restoration.  Next, I took some time to share experiences and insights from the lives of Joseph and Hyrum Smith and reflected on the martyrdom.  

Next were workshops led by our Sister Training Leaders, Zone Leaders and Assistants.  One workshop taught the elements of effective companion study.   The other taught the "T Outline"--a method which helps missionaries organize and focus their lessons on the individual needs of those they teach.

After the workshops we had lunch, birthday celebrations, and a lively activity of Pictionary. (We have some incredibly gifted artists!)

We gathered again in the chapel for our afternoon session.  President Rahlf led us in a scripture study about each of the dispensations.  We came to recognize that the fundamental and vital message of every dispensation was, and is, the doctrine of Christ.  That is the message that we carry forth today. 

Our day closed with testimonies shared and feelings of gratitude to be united in this 
great work.

Note about typhoon Glenda (Rammasum)

I just wanted to post a note about the Typhoon Glenda that is hitting parts of the Philippines right now.  Our mission is not severely affected.  The weather here is a normal, stormy day with wind and rain.  The worst of the storm is much further south and will pass over the Metro Manilla area before heading back out to sea.

We ask that you please remember those that are in the storm's path, though, and keep them in your prayers.  Thank you--

When Departure Day comes around, we cannot help but look back on the abundant ways our missionaries have blessed the lives of all those they have encountered over the past eighteen months or two years.  We are grateful for their devoted service, for their love, for their testimonies, for their smiles.
