Over the days of October 6-7, and again on October 9th, we said farewell to 12 Elders and a selfless Senior Couple.  We are so deeply grateful for their service, for all they have learned and given, and for their love of the Lord and this Philippines Cauayan Mission.

We're so thankful that you are Philippine Cauayan Returned Missionaries!

Two days later saw the departure of Elder and Sister Honeycutt, as well as Elder Loto'aniu

whose flight home couldn't be arranged until Friday.  

We are so grateful for the Honeycutts--for their dedicated service and love.  They actually extended 6 weeks so they could train Elder and Sister Armstrong as the new finance and office Senior Couple.  The Honeycutts brought laughter, testimony, unselfishness, and joy to this missionary journey, and all that had the chance to associate with them will be forever blessed.  Well done, thou good and faithful servants!

Updated Package Information

Dear Family and Friends,
I just wanted to send a quick update on sending packages.  Along with our earlier post, I want to suggest that when listing contents of your package, that you simply put "Missionary Supplies."  We just received a package, sent correctly through US Post, for which we paid the normal 100 peso fee.  But added on to that was a 4400 peso (98.00) "customs fee," because the items inside were listed as new.  Parents had sent their missionary son some shoes and pants.  We have never had this happen before.  We feel that putting "Missionary Supplies" on your package forms will alleviate future problems.  I will put in another plug for shipping via Julie Hess, who accepts packages and sends them together to our mission using LBC.  Her information can be found on the previous blogpost "MLC, New Leadership Training, the "ber" months and Sending Packages," September 2015.

We had a beautiful day to gather with "batch mates" and companions for additional training and counsel.

The day starts as everyone meets in the Mission Office.

We then break into two groups

and have extended orientation

After a wonderful lunch, we are taught by the Senior Couples and then have 
some time to visit and share experiences of this first amazing month in the mission.
There's a lot of talking and laughing and all are rejuvenated and ready to "go forth
with faith."  There's also a lot of gratitude for this journey and the eternal friendships that are being made.
